Wimbledon’s opening week is expected to begin with largely dry conditions, especially on Monday, with temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s Celsius. The forecast points to warmer-than-average weather, but not the extreme heat and humidity seen in London recently.
Tuesday may bring a more unsettled picture across the UK, although Greater London is currently expected to avoid the worst of the showers. Later in the week, a north-westerly airflow could help keep conditions around the All England Club relatively dry, with temperatures around the mid-20s.
The outlook becomes less certain beyond the first week, but the current signal suggests warmth and dryness could continue into week two. Forecasters also note the possibility of further hot spells later in July and August, so tournament conditions may still need close monitoring.
Recent heat remains part of the story: London recorded seven straight days above 30°C, while Wisley in Surrey reached 36°C. Wimbledon’s heat rule, which allows a 10-minute player break when the heat stress index reaches 30.1°C, has already been used during qualifying.
