Ina Yoon holds the halfway lead at the Women's PGA Championship on 12-under, while Nelly Korda is six strokes behind after a second-round 68. Korda remains in contention, but the world number one has ground to make up over the weekend.

Yoon followed her nine-under opening round with a 69 to stay clear at Hazeltine. A group at seven-under includes H-R Ryu, N Hataoka, Brooke Henderson and A-L Kim, putting several players between Yoon and Korda.

Korda, already a winner of the Chevron Championship and US Open this year, made her move early in round two with four birdies on the front nine before closing with six straight pars. Her position keeps alive the possibility of a third consecutive major, though Yoon’s advantage changes the pressure dynamic.

Charley Hull, runner-up to Korda at the US Open earlier this month, missed the cut after two rounds of 73 left her at two-over. The championship also carries a record women’s golf purse of $13m, including $1.95m for the winner.
