Emma Raducanu’s fitness for Wimbledon is uncertain after she ended practice early on Saturday. The British number one is still scheduled to open her campaign against Antonia Ruzic on Monday, but her preparation has clearly been disrupted.
Raducanu, seeded 30th, had already missed training on Thursday and Friday amid reports of a possible shin issue. On Saturday she practised with strapping on her lower right leg, then stopped during a practice set with Anna Kalinskaya after losing the opening four games.
Her media conference was later cancelled, with organisers saying it would be moved to Sunday. That leaves a short window for clarity before her Court One match against Ruzic, which is listed for 13:00 BST on Monday.
The concern comes after a demanding recent run in London, where Raducanu reached the final before losing to Donna Vekic. That progress suggested positive momentum, but five matches in six days appears to have added another physical test before a Grand Slam campaign.
